Increased Uptime for Consistent Productivity

A regional accounting firm was struggling with frequent internet outages that disrupted their ability to process client tax returns on time, especially during tax season. These interruptions led to missed deadlines and frustrated clients. After upgrading to Comvirt’s business NBN, their connection became significantly more reliable, ensuring consistent productivity and allowing the firm to handle high volumes of work smoothly, even during peak periods. This improved service has not only enhanced client satisfaction but also helped the firm maintain its reputation for reliability and efficiency.

Better Support for VoIP and Communication Tools

A mid-sized healthcare clinic was experiencing frequent issues with their VoIP system, leading to dropped calls and communication delays with patients and other medical professionals. These disruptions were affecting patient care and causing frustration among staff. After upgrading to Comvirt’s Business NBN, the clinic’s VoIP service became far more stable, providing clear and uninterrupted communication. This improvement has enhanced patient interactions, streamlined internal communications, and strengthened the clinic’s reputation for providing reliable, quality care.

High-Performance Cloud Access for Efficient Operations

A growing construction firm decided to adopt cloud-based project management software to improve coordination between on-site teams and the head office. However, their existing internet connection struggled with the demands of real-time data syncing, leading to communication lags and project delays. After switching to business NBN, the firm gained rapid and reliable access to cloud services, enabling real-time updates and seamless communication between all parties involved. This upgrade significantly reduced project delays, improved decision-making speed, and enhanced overall operational efficiency, allowing the firm to complete projects on time and within budget, ultimately strengthening client satisfaction and project outcomes.

Prioritised Network Traffic for Critical Business Applications

A busy veterinary clinic was struggling with slow performance of their patient management system, especially during peak hours when staff were simultaneously using online appointment scheduling, medical records, and digital imaging tools. This lag not only slowed down patient care but also frustrated both staff and pet owners. After upgrading to business NBN, the clinic was able to prioritize network traffic for their critical applications, ensuring that the patient management system and other vital tools operated smoothly even during the busiest times. This led to faster check-ins, more efficient consultations, and overall improved care for the animals, significantly enhancing the clinic’s reputation and client satisfaction.

FAQ’s

How can I check if my business qualifies for a free nbn® FTTP fibre upgrade?

To determine if your business qualifies for a complimentary nbn® Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) upgrade, simply contact us for a free assessment. We will let you know if you’re currently eligible, if your eligibility window is approaching, or if your location isn’t eligible at this time.
Please note that since this upgrade program is managed by nbn®, Comvirt doesn’t have the ability to influence your eligibility status. However, as nbn® continues to expand its initiatives to enhance Australia’s connectivity, new opportunities may arise in the future. Be sure to stay updated on any changes that might make your address eligible down the line.

How fast is business nbn®?

The maximum speed of your business nbn® connection is determined by the specific plan you select. Our plans range from entry-level options offering 25 megabits per second (Mbps) download speed and 10 Mbps upload speed (25/10 Mbps), perfect for smaller teams with moderate usage needs, to high-performance plans providing up to 1000 Mbps download and 400 Mbps upload speeds (1000/400 Mbps). These ultra-fast plans are designed for businesses that require robust bandwidth to support multiple users, video conferencing, cloud-based applications, and large data transfers seamlessly. Whatever your business demands, we have a plan to match, ensuring reliable and efficient connectivity tailored to your operational needs.

How long does the business nbn® installation process take?

If Your Premises Have Been Previously Connected: If your business address has had a prior nbn® connection, the installation is typically straightforward, with a standard time frame of 1-5 business days. In most cases, no additional work from a technician will be required, allowing for a quick and hassle-free setup.
If Your Premises Have Not Been Connected to nbn® Before: For addresses that have not yet been connected to the nbn®, the installation process can take up to 20 business days, depending on the type of nbn® access technology in your area and the availability of a technician. The specific method of installation will vary based on your nbn® access technology, which could include Fibre to the Node/Building (FTTN/B), Hybrid Fibre Coaxial (HFC), Fibre to the Premises (FTTP), or Fixed Wireless.
Potential Downtime During Installation:
For Existing Connections
FTTN/B or HFC: If your premises are already connected to the nbn® via FTTN/B or HFC technology, you might experience a brief period of downtime when switching service providers. This is generally a minimal interruption but is important to plan for, especially if your business relies heavily on continuous connectivity.
FTTP or Fixed Wireless: If your premises are connected via FTTP or Fixed Wireless technology, the installation process is even smoother. A new port on your existing network termination device will be activated, allowing for seamless service with no expected downtime, as other active ports remain unaffected.
For New Connections
FTTN/B or HFC: If your premises have not yet been connected to the nbn® using FTTN/B or HFC technology, there may be a short period of downtime while the new connection is established. This is a standard part of the installation process and typically does not cause significant disruption.
FTTP or Fixed Wireless: For new connections utilizing FTTP or Fixed Wireless technology, new infrastructure will be installed. This process will not interfere with your current services, ensuring that your business remains operational throughout the installation.
By understanding these time frames and potential downtimes, you can better prepare for the installation of your business nbn®, ensuring a smooth transition to enhanced connectivity.

What is a Static IP Address, and why does it matter for your business?wn?

A Static IP address is a permanent, fixed address provided by your ISP that doesn’t change over time, unlike the dynamic IPs common in residential plans. This consistency makes it easier for external devices and services to reliably connect to your business network.
Key Advantages of a Static IP Address:
Reliable Network Access: Easily host files or manage a server with consistent accessibility.
Seamless Printing: Ensure stable network printing across multiple devices.
Server Hosting: Host your website or email server directly with enhanced control.
Remote Access: Simplify secure access to your network from anywhere.

A static IP is essential for businesses needing stable connections, secure remote work, and efficient network management.

How long will it take to upgrade my business to a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) connection?

Once your business is confirmed as eligible for a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) upgrade and we’ve received your order, we’ll promptly coordinate with nbn® to initiate the upgrade process.
Typically, the installation of your FTTP connection will be completed within 4 to 8 weeks. However, in some instances, the process may take longer, particularly if there are complex technical challenges or additional work required.
It’s important to note that not all addresses are immediately eligible for an FTTP upgrade. Some locations may need to wait until they are included in future phases of the nbn® Fibre Connect program, which is continually expanding to reach more businesses.
Since this upgrade is part of an nbn® initiative, we don’t have control over the timeline or eligibility criteria for Fibre Connect upgrades. We recommend staying informed as nbn® rolls out more opportunities for fibre upgrades, potentially increasing your address’s eligibility in the near future.
